Fighting

Matthew is a highly trained martial artist and stage combat professional, both performing in theatrical combat and co-ordinating it for theatres and heritage sites. He holds a 3rd Dan black belt in Wado-ryu Karate and regularly teaches for the England Wadokai. He has trained with both the British Academy of Dramatic Combat and with the Academy of Performance Combat.

He has co-ordinated swordplay, knightly combat in full plate harness, Victorian style bareknuckle prize fighting and created full scale castle sieges and riots.

He also regularly acts as Commentator for jousts on horseback and re-enactment foot combats with companies including – Griffin Historical, Historic Equitation, The Knights of Royal England and Dressed to Kill.
